Route 66 turns 100, and Hi-Desert Nature Museum is marking the centennial with objects gathered from local collectors and route-shield artwork made by the community. The Journey is the Destination: 100 Years of Route 66 pairs that memorabilia with a multi-sensory treatment built around sight and scent.
The exhibition opens Saturday, October 17, and remains on view during museum hours through Saturday, December 12. The museum is open Wednesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., inside the Yucca Valley Community Center complex at 57090 29 Palms Highway. It is closed on Town holidays, including Veterans Day and the Thanksgiving closures during this run.
