The Nautilus Room: Oceanic Curiosities

Mojave Moon Apothecary is bringing the ocean into the desert with The Nautilus Room: Oceanic Curiosities, an immersive marine natural-history exhibit in the shop's back room at the Historic Plaza in Twentynine Palms. The installation gathers oceanic specimens, preserved coastal forms, maritime antiques, and Victorian parlor-room atmosphere into a hands-on environment for visitors of all ages. Expect shells, fossils, coral, sea urchins, starfish, and other sea-life specimens, with some pieces available for purchase and others there to view. Mojave Moon has said that 10 percent of exhibit sales will support Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro. The exhibit is open during Mojave Moon's regular store hours: Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
