Alela Diane

By late August, Pappy & Harriet's has settled into its summer rhythm: dinner service, a dark room, and the slow build toward a 9 PM set. Alela Diane comes to Pioneertown on Thursday, August 13, with Shannon Lay opening the night. The bill is built for listeners who want the room quiet enough to hear the grain in a voice, then full enough to carry a band. Diane is a Portland-based folk songwriter from Nevada City, California, with a catalog rooted in family, grief, memory, and the natural world. Her current work around Who's Keeping Time? moves through intimate folk writing, Americana edges, and live-band arrangements shaped by a fresh run of collaboration in Portland. Shannon Lay brings a gentler but no less precise thread to the bill, with folk and punk instincts pulled into spare guitar songs and a delicate vocal style. Doors open at 8 PM and the show starts at 9 PM. Tickets are $20 to $25 through the official ticket link. The show is all ages. Pappy's can fill quickly for seated dinner and standing-room shows alike, so the practical move is simple: get there before the desert road goes fully dark.
