Los Poncho Tones

Los Poncho Tones brings their signature "Greasy Tumbleweed" sound to The Red Dog Saloon every first Friday of the month. This high desert trio masterfully blends New Orleans-based rhythms with dusty desert vibes, weaving together rock, blues, jazz, vintage R&B, funk, country, and Americana into something uniquely their own. The band features Josh Sonntag on guitar, Renoy Westan Jr on drums, and Jon Ousman on bass, creating a sound that perfectly captures the spirit of California's high desert. Set against the historic backdrop of The Red Dog Saloon—a venue that's been part of Pioneertown's story since 1946—these monthly performances offer both locals and visitors a chance to experience authentic desert music in an equally authentic Western setting. The intimate venue, originally built as part of a film set, provides the perfect atmosphere for Los Poncho Tones' genre-blending performances that have become a beloved tradition in the high desert music scene.
