SPACE CRAFT: ESG with Sun Atlas

SPACE CRAFT's Friday night at Pappy & Harriet's is a focused indoor-stage bill, not the whole festival compressed into one listing. Sun Atlas starts the Pioneertown block at 7:45 PM on Friday, August 14, and ESG follows at 9 PM. The schedule gives the room a clean two-part shape: Los Angeles outernational funk first, South Bronx dance-punk after. ESG, short for Emerald, Sapphire and Gold, came out of the South Bronx in 1978 with the Scroggins family at the center. The band's minimal drums, bass, guitar, and percussion moved through punk rooms and dance floors, then traveled again through hip-hop sampling culture. Sun Atlas brings a newer Los Angeles thread to the same night, drawing from Afrobeat, cinematic soul, spiritual and Ethio-jazz, surf, garage funk, and hip-hop breaks. This listing covers the Friday Pappy & Harriet's Indoor Stage program only. It doesn't include the Saturday Tangerine Dream and Evicshen programming. SPACE CRAFT access is pass-based, with ticket tiers varying by access level through the official ticket link. The festival FAQ says all ages are welcome and every attendee needs a ticket; Pappy & Harriet's policy requires guests under 18 to come with an adult.
