Creative Cafe

Creative Cafe returns to the Joshua Tree Retreat Center for a weekly celebration of artistic expression in the heart of the high desert. These drop-in art sessions welcome creators of all ages and skill levels to explore different creative activities each week, with all materials thoughtfully provided. Set against the stunning backdrop of the desert landscape, participants can create on the outdoor patio when weather permits, or gather inside the cozy Food for Thought Cafe. The flexible format allows you to stay for just a few minutes of inspiration or settle in for the full two-hour session. Led by local teacher, writer, and artist Jillian Sandell, these sessions foster a welcoming community where creativity flows as naturally as the desert breeze. The cafe's delicious vegetarian menu with vegan options provides the perfect complement to an afternoon of artistic exploration, though participation in dining is entirely optional.
