Paisley Ramstead leads a family-friendly desert ecology walk at Desert View Conservation Area on Sunday, October 25, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The leisurely outing covers under two miles, and the walking can be modified. Black lights are supplied for the after-dark fieldwork.
The walk is open to all; children younger than 12 must attend with an adult. Bring water, food, layers, closed-toe shoes and a headlamp. No park entry is needed, and transportation isn't provided. Tickets are $40 plus a $2.85 fee. As of September 10, registration listed 15 tickets remaining.
