Instructor and local environmental volunteer Arch McCulloch leads a morning hike through the geology of Joshua Tree National Park. The group meets at the junction of Geology Tour Road and Park Boulevard, then explores the first stretch of the Geology Tour Road loop from 8 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 3.
The leisurely route covers less than two miles, with limited shade, uneven ground and minor scrambling. Bring water, food, closed-toe shoes, hiking clothes, sun protection and a daypack. Arrive with a full tank of gas or a full EV charge. Transportation isn't included, and park admission is separate. Tickets are $40, plus a $2.85 fee.
